About the UWA Undergraduate Philosophy Society (UPhilSoc)
Est. 2020 at the University of Western Australia
How should I live my life? How should I act? What happens after I die? Can I justifiably break the law? Can an Artificial Intelligence be conscious? Does hookup culture affirm or abuse human sexuality? Why does evil and suffering exist? Should we remove prohibitions on psychedelic drugs? Is there a God? How could I know?
Regardless of their degrees, occupations, careers, age or sex, all people will encounter these or similar questions during their lifetime.
If you want to meet like-minded people, explore these questions, learn how to think critically and manage to have a laugh while doing so, then UPhilSoc is for you.
Whether it’s over a morning coffee, student lectures, a beer from the Tav, quiz nights, you will expand your horizons and release your inner philosopher.
After all, an unexamined life is not worth living … Or is it?
Did you know that most of our members are not solely philosophy majors?
